Creating an executive digital model of a real object

Digitalization of operational enterprises is becoming an objective necessity to maximize the benefits of BIM development.

BIM modeling technology in design usually ends with the creation of an integrated project model and, based on it, a package of working drawings. Often, the life cycle of a BIM project stops there. However, drawings and a design model are not construction products, but only its virtual image-idea.

In order for the BIM model to continue to benefit the customer at the subsequent stages - construction and operational, it is necessary to transform the project BIM model into an executive model of a really built object.

The state enterprise "Belorusneft-Neftehimproekt" is interested in the fact that the BIM modeling products created by it go through a full life cycle and do not end with the transfer of the project to the customer. An important factor in this direction is the customer's understanding of all the benefits that he can get from the BIM model of his objects at a long stage of the object's life cycle – in operation.

To this end, the designers took the next step – they implemented an executive BIM model of the object, the digital model of which was designed earlier. The creation of an information model reflecting the actual condition of the facility based on the results of construction will speed up the preparation of executive documentation and bring the operation process to a qualitatively new level.

The executive model of the object was created on the basis of the design model and the point cloud of the real object, as well as the executive documentation provided by the customer. It includes all the details of the project and reflects the current position of all elements. When creating the executive model, the innovative mixed reality technology for BIM supervision BRIO MRS was used.

The formed executive BIM model will become the basis for the development of an operational model in order to form a digital twin of the object.
